Almost at the end of the semester

So we have a few weeks til Finals.  Actually my finals are the week of May 11th.  There's a lot of questions I have because this semester has been my first attempt in 3 years at schooling.  3 years ago... it seems like a long time.

3 years ago, I was attending community college with financial assistance from my mom.  I wasn't sure of what my major was.  I just knew I needed to pull up my GPA.  I took classes towards a business major cuz frankly, working at the casino, that's all anyone ever thinks to major.  If you have a business degree, you might be able to be a manager. 

But times change.  I had my chance to participate in a manager training program (sans degree).  I don't want a manager job.  I'm not worried about screwing something up but frankly I hate dealing with people.

Today is completely different.  I feel motivated.  I want the best for my wife and kids.  I want to take them somewhere else.  Which comes to my biggest worries:

Where will I get accepted?

How much will we get in equity for selling our house?

How much house can we afford when we move?

Will we live in the city on a tiny lot or in the country with a couple of acres?

Will Drew and Chris be in a good school district?

And how much money will we have leftover after the move (we might need another newer vehicle)?

It's been a while...

So to start things off, I finally took down my Deftones banner.  Sadly when Sarah Anne had mentioned the necessary change, I was actually listening to that cd at that very moment... Trying to hold onto whatever new memories that cd gave me, I took it down.  But in it's place is some weezer lyrics we can all appreciate.

XM radio is a godsend...

Right now I'm listening to "Daylight" by Matt & Kim... please hear this song.  It's just indescribable.

Alt Nation has become my new afternoon fix.  Whenever I'm doing school work at home, I just turn my Directv reciever to channel 834 and I get to hear some current songs that I just wouldn't hear on any stations in probably 100 miles from here.  It's sad.  I've always had this dream of doing something outgoing like starting a bar, a radio station or designing a supercar from scratch.

So onto new News:

I don't wanna get my hopes up but I've applied to the University of Florida.  This has been my first attempt to apply for an out of state college since my high school graduation.  It's a really big deal for me to actually think that I can get out of Mississippi and I'll actually consider Birmingham if I have to.

My prior gpa was a 1.8.  My midterm grades were 2 A's and 3 B's.  Unfortunately I just bombed a test in both of the A classes so it looks like I'll be fighting on all 5 warfronts for an A.

I will hopefully be selling my house if I get into a University (in state or out of state).  I've applied to Ole Miss and I'm in the process of getting a new login for the Mississippi College website in order to re-apply for this fall semester.  Once I finish this semester with decent grades, the colleges will see how much of a change I have made to focus on schooling.  No C's or less for me from here on out.  I'm better than that.
